Why do others call me stuck up cause I'm shy?
I'm not around family and friends. I'm just sometimes quiet around people I never talked too or I'm quiet when I'm tired. Sometimes when I first meet people it takes me a while to come out of my shell cause I think I'm going to get judged . I'm happy and smiling all of the time. That’s just how I am, a happy person. Since elementary school I've heard girls say that I'm stuck up or "I think I'm all that". I honestly feel like I'm the nicest person I never talked bad about someone even behind their backs. There's no point if you think about it, you never know what someone's going through. I'm not a bitch. It won't get you anywhere in the future. Can someone tell me why people do call me stuck up cause I'm shy? I really don't get it

I've had this same problem since...forever!People have always assumed that because I'm not as talkative as them that I must think I'm above them. If you think about it, it's petty arrogant for them to have a specific criteria that only "non stuck up people" adhere to. As if you're some social pariah for not being the EXACT way they want you to be.From your post, you seem like a genuinely kind, understanding person who is constantly being misunderstood due to the complete lack of effort from others. The people that assume you're stuck up, I bet have never taken the time to GET to know you, have they? I know from experience that they seldom ever do. And even then it feels like some sociological experiment, right? As if they're trying to get you to say something to reaffirm what they already think of you. I know it's frustrating to be accused of that when you KNOW it's the farthest thing from the truth, but as long as you continue to be yourself, who you are is enough to destroy any misconceptions people have about you. And even if it doesn't, the people who care about you and know who you are are already in your life. The ones who deserve your friendship will always gravitate towards you. Hope this helps!!! :)
