'Sup, guys? Feel free to ask what you will of me. Don't worry about stumpin me with a question. Chances are, I'm in the same boat, so I'll know where you're comin from. I'll try to answer as best I can with some tried and true advice. So, ask away, folks!

i love rock/punk...i'm always looking for new stuff to listen to. can anyone name a few bands for me?
Haha, depends on how heavy you're willing to go. Personally, my favorite bands are KoRn, Metallica, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Limp Bizkit, and some really good bands that I've been hearing some stuff from recently are Hatebreed, Machine Head, Testament (newer stuff), Meshuggah, Fear Factory (cum inducing double bass drum work, I swear to God!), Mudvayne, Otep, Kittie (all chiks, but heavy as fuck!), Static-X, Napalm Death, just to name a few. Of course, that's all heavy assed metal, so proceed with caution. Hope I helped. Btw, Yellowcard and Story of The Year suck ass!
ok our school theres basically 2 groups. preps and punks. and we dont get along. i consider myself a punk. and i try to be nice to the preps but they just like call me a slut and a druggie! i am not a slut. my friends know that i aint. and i am not druggie i dont even smoke. but the preps got it in their heads that i am. and they wont leave me alone about it! and the preppy guys think i am "hot" and they always ask me stuff like "ur so hot why do u hang out with the druggie guys?" well u do cuz a/ most of them arent druggies b. they are super respectful. but i just dont get why preps are so mean to me and my friends. i mean we are nice to them and they are just total jerks (i would use other chioce words) and now we are jerks back to them cuz they are to us! even the teachers are unfair to us cuz we dress different and skate. how can we get this whole thing to stop? its soo incredibly dumb and how can we get the teachers to stop? we cant report to the principal hes worse than the teachers.
I have the same problem at my school. I'm a metal head and all the preps (well, except for a few) think I'm some psycho just cause I listen to KoRn and Slipknot. Don't worry about it. Just ignore them, they'll stop. Hell, try this: if someone ever calls you a psycho or freak show or anything like that, say thank you. Believe me, it makes them mad as hell to see that it doesn't get to you. Just embrace your image, it pisses them off to no end.
And as far as the teachers and principal, sorry, can't help ya there.
Well, I have a band with three of my friends, we don't really play instruments though, we just sing. But we're auditioning for the school's talent show and I don't think that they actually WANT to be singers as much as I do...and I want to ditch the band and get with a REAL band who is actually interested in singing and not just to do something, you know? Also, I feel that I should be the lead singer since I have "the voice" and they...don't. How can I tell them this without actually telling them?
Um, tough one. Well, you can't really tell them without telling them. Well, I suppose you can have some kind of contest. Have other people that y'all know vote in an unbiased way on it. That's all I can say.
As far as getting with other like minded musicians, ask around you're school or put want ads in the local paper.
