what are some good lotions/creams/etc. to get rid of scars? i have a few on my arm that i want to get rid of. they're kinda...medium scars...not really scratches, but not really huge ones...

thanks for all your help!

Try Vitamin E oil...it is all natural and when applied after you shower and your pores are open, it can penetrate and work to eliminate the scars. It will not make them go away, but it will fade them considerably.

My mother suffered from agoraphobia (fear of wide open spaces) for years. That was in her twenties and thirties, but she had me after that when she was forty-one. She was afraid to leave her house and talk on the phone, and she had social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, she was bipolar, depressed..all of these different illnesses.
Ive inherited some things from her, but not all of them. And I have a sleep disorder.
Well school starts in a bit less than a week for me and Ill be in high school. I LOVE to go to amusement parks, shopping, the mall, carnivals..you name it. Well not carnivals theyre icky x]
But when Im in my house, I get nervous. Really really nervous. I might shake a bit and sometimes Ill cry. Its mostly when Im either in the kitchen or the family room..and itll seem like Im looking through a fisheye lens and the room feels sooo much bigger than it really is! So I usually have to spend my time in my bedroom or outside. I think I feel more comfortable cuddled up in my room with the lights down real low, or just in the computer room because theyre the smallest parts of the house. Is it possible that I inherited Agorophobia from my mom? If I did then why can I still go out in public? Oh but sometimes when Im out in public my eyes get real sleepy and I have to walk looking at the floor, though. (link)
Dear Mother's Daughter:

I scariest part of living with a mental illness is the fear of passing it along to one of your children. Unfortunately it seems to me that you might have inherited some chemical imbalances from your mom that led to her being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. This, of course, does not imply that you have this disorder. Having symptoms and having manic depressive episodes are completely different.

Your fear of large rooms could very well be interpretted as a fear of not being able to know what's going on around you. If you can see the whole room, then nothing in the room can "get you," right? The same thing with a sleep disorder (assuming that you have trouble sleeping and are not just sleeping all the time). It's anxiety and nothing more at this point. Your doctor can probably help you to understand and control these feelings (with or without drugs).

Just listen to yourself and if your mind is going through a change, don't ignore it. Without help, my dear, things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

I have a lot of stress in my life. I know the effects of stress are pretty bad, especially with me.

I am looking to do some sort of stress management with myself. Things are getting out of control and it's hard for me to focus on my daily routine now. I don't sleep well so I'm always tired, my memory is sketchy, constantly nervous, mood-swings, and am having lost of headaches. I know it's from the crazy amount of stress in my life but I don't know how to RELAX!

How can I get some effective stress relief? What should I do to get rid of all of this stress? Some stress management techniques would be wonderful. I also heard about "stress nutrition" before too if anyone could give me information on that.

Overall, advice please on lessening my stress? (link)
Dear Stress-full,

If you are interested, I would be willing to communicate with you through my column so that I may ask you some more questions about your stressful lifestyle choices and what you might be able to eliminate or alter in your daily life.

There are many ways to relieve stress, but sometimes external stress is not your fault and the steps taken to avoid those stresses can stress you out more if not done the right way.

Please contact me through my column if you would like to discuss this more. I think I can help.

Okay...
I really want to have sex but iam really afraid tha my paretns are going to find out or my friends!
and what if i get pregnant!
i mean i will use a condom but you can still get pregnant but all my other friends never got pregnant when they had sex but could and it would ruin my whole life!
i need help PLEASE!

Sandy:

My advice to you is to talk to your mom about your desire to have sex. If there is a boy that you really care about and you both want to have sex, I am not going to say not to. The important thing however is that you should not have any fear going into the situation. Sometimes it's easier to ask Mom if she will go to the doctor with you and then confront her with your doctor's support about why you would like to be put on birth control.

We live in a world where sex is no longer for the sole purpose of making babies. It can be many things, most importantly, it's supposed to feel good, to feel right. If you have any question about whether it's the right choice, don't do it. I promise you that you will make plenty of mistakes in life without knowing that they were coming. If you see a mistake coming, trust yourself, and do the right thing to avoid it.

i was wondering how you can get over a guy that you went out for a year. he was the world for me and my best friend. i tried everything but sometimes i think of him and what we used to do. i miss him, but as a friend.

can you help me get over him or at least do something to get him off my mind????

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! (link)
Dear Please Help:

Whenever something ends, something new begins, right? Getting him off of your mind is not the best thing for you because I am sure you have many happy memories of your time together. The important thing to help you get over him is to accept the reasons why the relationship didn't work. Most likely, the same reasons why you couldn't stay together are the same reasons why you are not still friends. Was there something that you needed from him that he wasn't giving you? Miss him, it's your right. There was good in the relationship, but there was no future. You will get over him when you start planning your future without him.
