we had 2 cockatiels. 1 died this morning and the alive one keeps whistling. he wont eat treats. what could you do to bring joy to a cockatiel? do they like music? we also have another parrot, but they cant be in the same cage because the parrot would bite the cockatiel. we have the cockatiel outside right now because my mom says it likes to communicate with the wild birds by whistling. but what else could you do? Like all parrots cockatiels are social birds and need company. This is a good chance for you to train your bird.
If you start providing the socialization it needs and it will form a strong bond with you.

Does anyone know why my parakeets nose might be looking dry. I have 2 and one's nose is nice and pink and the cockatiel's nose is looking pretty pink but a different shad (as it's always been) So do you think maybe she isn't drinking enough water or something or is it too hot? Any ideas? Thank you. (link)

Here's a direct quote from a page about
http://petparrotsweb.com/budgie-birds.php budgie birds
Once they get older you can tell the sex of your bird by the color of it's cere. If it's a male Budgie it will have a blue cere, and if it's a female it will have a brown cere.
(The cere is the soft fleshy area on top of the beak surrounding the nostrils.
