I signed up for the school talent show. Suddenly today, I learned that it will be held at the assembly. And it's too late to drop out. I have a terrible case of stage fright. I'm singing a song from THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Wishing You Were...), and it's going to be hard to liven up a beautiful broadway piece next to all the other singers, who are singing stuff like Ice Ice Baby and Alicia Keys. How do I relax?!
well, i myself LOVE phantom of the opera. i'm a "phantom phreak"! and Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again is one of the most beautiful songs, and one of the best songs in the musical i think. so, just think about this-do you love the song? do you love the way you feel while singing it? do you love the harmony and melody combining to make a beautiful masterpiece? just let those happy thoughts take you away. just sing with all your heart while in a place where no one can disturb you. when i read this question, i got a tingly feeling in my stomach, because the SAME EXACT THING happened to me. at our school talent show all these people were singing these up-beat popular songs and i really wanted to sing Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. I myself don't have stage fright, but when i realized all the other songs people were going to sing, i worried. and i worried. and i worried. but then, on that night, i got up on stage and just let the song take me away. and that's what you should do.
