Quick Question about the lesbian couple, Maureen and Joanna. In R E N T, was Maureen the more "masculine" one or Joanna? (link)
Maureen is definately more flirty and outgoing. Joanne is more reserved and not shy, but to herself. Have you seen the movie yet? It's really good. I would say that neither one is really more masculine, but Maureen is more pushy.

Ok so my hs is holding a musical FAME. im part of the comitie im securatary. im only in 8th grade the rest of the officers are upper class men. i was wondering i dont have a song to sing. i want a bway song but not a fame song. (link)
Broadway songs are so awesome. I would definately suggest things from les miserables, west side story, or evita. Rent is also really cool if you want an upbeat song. Some good ones are:
Out Tonight: Rent
Buenos Aires: Evita
Don't Cry For Me Argentina: Evita
Waiting For Life: Once On This Island
Forever Yours: Once On This Island
Part Of The Human Heart: Once On This Island
On My Own: Les Miserables
I Dreamed a Dream: Les Miserables
Somewhere: West Side Story
Without You: Rent
Far From the Home I Love: Fiddler on The Roof
Somewhere Over the Rainbow: Wizard Of Oz.

There's tons of songs out there. Go to http://www.theraven452000.addr.com/show1.html and look through the songs there. I'm sure you'll find a great one. Good Luck!

I'd like to start a tradition with the theater that I'm in. Any good suggestions and ideas? (link)
Wicked fun!! Crazy warmups are tons of fun before every show and they help you get more in the mood. Also totally put fun and random stuff in the dressing rooms. Things like strobe lights and posters and fun stuff that. Have dance parties in the dressing rooms. Theres all sorts of stuff you can do and the more crazy and random...the better. Just have fun with it and teach all of the new actors about it and keep it going. Have fun!

Ok im aditioning for a school play and everytime a start to say my lines infront of my teacher i get so nervouse, shaky, and i just freeze and/or forget my lines. Can someone please tell me some ways how to calm myself and someways to remember my lines better? thankyou all very much, i rate good! (link)
I hope I can help...i used to be a nervous type. Well if your stomache gets messed up then tighten your thigh muscles...and practice everything in your head. It should help relive stress and make you feel more confident. With learning your lines...just keep practicing them over and over. If you know them completely by heart, then you wont be as nervous. Auditions are intimidating but they have to be. If they werent, people would think the acting is easy and two words: DEFINATELY NOT!! Being nervous for a show actually makes you perfrom better but freezing and shaking onstage is no good. Whenever i got nervous i would look at the exit signs right next to the doors across the stage. It would help me feel better and have something to concentrate on so i wouldnt be looking into the crowd. Don't worry hun. It looks like this is one of your first auditions and its perfectly normal to be nervous. With more experience, you'll gain more confidence. I hope you get the part you want and break a leg out there!

Hi,
I am doing a play with a kiss scene. And the person that I happen to be kissing is my guy friend. So its really akward. I really try to make it non-akward after but somehow it just is. And I was going to do the "theatre illusion" of kissing someone but the drama teach says it looks to obvious (putting your thumbs over the person's mouth and kissing your thumbs). Is there any other way to make it illusion? so its not all akward. We already kissed for once and for real. Boy, I was mad. All my friends are like aw, you should go out with him. I mean for heaven's sake! It was a staged kiss!
Any adice?
Por Favor :)

Yeah I know how it is..I had to do a stage kiss before and it is akward but if he's your friend then you can totally joke around about it with him. You should first talk to him about it. It will probably feel wicked weird at the time but you will feel so much better after. If he thinks you guys shouldnt really kiss then what you do is tilt your head so you kiss his cheek. If it's supposed to be a big kiss then just do the same thing but with more enthusiasm. If you want to be an actor in the future then you're gonna have to suck it up at some point and just kiss the kid. It's not as bad kissing your friend...it would be worse if you were complete strangers. I hope it all works out for you and i hope your play does great.
