I need to go out of town for like a week. Is it worse to give my plants tons and tons of water before I leave, just just give them the normal amount of water and let them wilt some when they run out and hope I can bring them back to life when I'm back? (link)
Not sure what kind of plants or how big they are. But, you can leave ice cubes on top of the dirt. They melt slowly so the plant gets water a bit more gradually. This time of year they should be able to go without water for a week. Once spring starts they'll need more.

I have dedicated this poem to my plant that will not grow.
little little fern why dont u grow,
little little fern i want to know,
i sit here waiting for you,
i just dont know what to do,
i put you outside i pit you inside,
but every since my cat ate u it died.

should i keep my fern?

Try some rain water or melted snow and leave it in a sunny window. It could be dormant due to winter. If it doesn't perk up when spring gets started there isn't much hope for it.
