I'm really into acting, and I just got an audition for TV and I told her that. Since then, she's been extra nice and invited me to go shopping and stuff. How do I know if she's using me to become popular or something like that? Also she REALLY wants to be a model and she's not doing anything about it and I'm telling her how hard it is to get into and that she needs to get involved, and i tell her how, but all she says is "but i REALLY want to!" How can I describe how hard it is to get into?
Most likely, your freind is, indeed, being nice to you because of the audition. You can do two different things, depending on how close you two are.
Not that close: Finding a new friend might be good if you aren't that great of friends. Also, you could try confronting her, although i understand that you might be afraid of that.
Close: Chances are, if you are very close, this fase will wear off. She will come to terms with the fact that you may become a movie star, and she won't be so obsessed with being your friend. You might want to take a little break from her for a while, to let her calm down. Don't be mean or anything, just don't do too much with her. However, if you talk to other people in front of her or ignore her, she may try harder.
Unfortunately, you will probably have a lot of this sort of problem if you get into the biz. You may have to sacrifice your social life for your career.
Just one question for you: how do you audition??! Sorry if I'm bugging you.
