Q: hey. i dont think i am very pretty. please tell me ways i can look pretty as far as hair styles and ways i can do my hair,makeup,facial cleansers, clothes, etc. if this helps, i am 13 and have blonde hair which is layered and straight with a sidebang and blue eyes. please no answers that say "you are preety just the way you are. u dont need to do anything" i am not looking for those kind of answers.
13 is a crucial age for worrying about your appearance. At your age you don't want to wear too much make up becaues it will make you too old and or trashy. Try curling your lashes and put a volumizing mascara on with a light colored eyeshadow or a little eyeliner. But not too much. Try curling your hair or pinning it back every now and then. I tend to tease my hair at the top just to make it look different, or I roll my bangs back and pin them. When you get out of the shower try putting mousse or gel in your hair and continue crunching it until it starts to stick. Try blow drying it and crunching it at the same time to have a waving look! Maybe throwing it in a pony tail, and doing something cute with your bangs. That's what I usually do and i love doing it because its simple. (: Don't always use a facial cleanser. Use a light non irritating soap to wash your face, for example Dove soap. If you wan't an acne wash then try different ones because they could irritate your face or help. No set wash helps everyone. When it comes to clothes try colored, simple, cute clothes. Nothing to showy for your age. Find clothes that fit your style and personality and it will show! Change up your style and try new things and after a while you are bound to find some that you like. I do it all the time. Good luck sweetheart. (:

Q: I've been wearing the same clothes since I was in middle school and I am now a senior in high school. I've always worn baggy sweatshirts, sweat pants, ugly sneakers or old boots. I also wear a lot of black. I basically scare people away and I actually had someone call me a bum. At first, I couldn't possibly care less, but now it's got me thinking that this must be the reason why I have a low self-esteem about my physical appearance. I want to change the way I dress and my overall physical appearance for this new school year, but I have no idea how to do that.
Basically, I have short dark, dark brown hair with matching eyes and I have a sort of hourglass figure. I'm 5'2' and weight about 125 lbs. I can't really say what styles I'm interested in because I love them all and I'm so used to wearing dark clothes, particularly black, so... What can I do to show people that I'm not entirely a loner and wouldn't mind making some new friends?
I do the exact same thing. I always wear big sweatpants, and tshirts, and clothes like that because I feel uncomfortable in my clothes, and now that I am a senior I want to change my look and stand out rather than look like a "bum."

Physical Appearance(head to toe):
- Try something new with your hair. Never do it the same. People will begin to see that you are changing it and compliment your new style. Maybe even dying your hair. I dyed mine a little dark than my normal color (brown) and it made a huge difference and I liked it a lot. Make a bold statement with your hair and people will definitely notice it, but nothing to drastic.

- Now your face. haha, when it comes to make up liquid concealers are out! Try new natural powders or natural minerals for an airbrushed look. Eye wise? For your eye color try light grays, and dark grays and blacks together or different shades of bronze. If you are a bright colored person for make up, try purples and blues. I have brown eyes too so I know it looks good. (: Only wear mascara on the top lashes, looks much better! Don't wear lipstick try glossy skin colored lip gloss. Wash your face every morning and night with a light soap. You will feel soooo good about how soft your skin is. I know i do(: You may want to get glasses that are a smaller frame. I would suggest it. But get black that would look cute and sophisticated. Maybe keep the purples ones for when you go out but keep smaller frames for school and events because you are making too big of a statement with those glasses. I mean would you wear those to an interview? I wouldn't! You need to look sophisticated, and confident.

- Clothing? Don't always go for the form fitting clothes because they may night be your style but don't go so baggy that it looks trashy. Try putting some colors into your wardrobe you may actually like and you will definitely stick out to people more than you did. Even if you are still into dark colors try a darker toned jean. You are a good size don't be afraid to go with form fitting clothes so show off your shape.

- Body? You may feel self-concious about yourself. Well don't because you are the only you, you've got! Just eat healhty, exercise, and pamper yourself because you will start feeling better about yourself and it's a mind trick, so you will see yourself smaller, or fitter and actually become attracted to it.

- Shoes! Find shoes that are comfortable. Heels? Don't do it! Just find slip on ballet flats that are comfortable, and sneakers you can still wear but not too often depending the type of outfit you have. The key is a comfortable and cute shoe, but nothing too flashy!

Just remember to be confident in yourself. Maybe once you change your overall look and switch it up, more people will begin to notice you and you will be complimented by people and that way you can start making new friends. Blow them away and show them what you've got, because we all have potential and you can prove to people that you aren't a "bum." Show them you can be a very beautiful girl, walk with your head held high, and walk that hallway like its your runway! Don't become cocky about it though. Just act cute, simple, and smart, becaues you deserve the very best. (:

Good luck!

Q: I have a question..i am getting my cartilage pierced this saturday and at walmart. But before i do, i want to know if there r any cheaper places and if it hurts a lot. Some people say it hurts like hell, others say they dont feel a thing....I just want to know all the facts before getting it done. thanks :)
Go to Claires, most of their locations have ear peircing. I had my cartilage peirced twice in the ear, and it was just like a pinch and instant headache. It just aches a little bit afterwards, just make sure to clean it 3 or more times a day, or the pain won't go away for it to heal.

But it also depends on what type of person you are. It may hurt, and it may not. Don't be too worried. Just close your eyes and its over, just take some aspirin afterwards to help(:

Good luck!
