hi! i need some help. I did very unhealthy dieting and about 2 months ago i started eating normally again. i gained some weight because i was taking birth control pills and now that i've got off of them i've lost some weight on my own... but i need a little help to get back at a comfortable weight for me.... but the thing is that it's just hard mentally. even though it's not so bad, i find it really hard to do it. especially, after all i've been through. it's not like i'm eating crap either. i mean, i eat pretty healthy. i just need to go on a structured meal plan. i have done it before, and i know i can do it again... but i need help to be mentally ready to do it. any advice? There has been a lot of talk about something called "thinking yourself thin" it's where you imagine yourself as a thin person each time you look in the mirror (at your goal weight etc), doing what you need to get there, eating the right foods etc... I guess the trick is that your body comes around and starts to support your brain's thinking on this. (the subconscious) starts taking over and doing things to help achieve your goals and then you yourself are able to start doing it. It's kind of a way to "conditioning" yourself into being able to do it! I believe it also has stress relieving techniques also. (which cortisol - stress hormone is NOTORIOUS for making people fat around the belly) you might want to find out more? I hope this helps with the mental aspects of your dieting, good luck! DearAbby92 is exactly correct, your fatty areas are indicated by your genes. The only way to gain fat in your bottom is to gain weight period (which will go where it goes) or there are many different exercises that you can do to get your bottom firmed and toned and maybe even get the muscles to grow a bit like abby said do lunges, squats and the sort. Biking, eliptical, donkey kicks are also good too. There are tons of other exercises you can look at on the internet. Hope this helps! Todd the Gem Guy

Your best bet to losing weight is to follow the mediterranean diet, this diet focuses on small portions of pasta or rice with a larger portion of different vegetables, along with fresh fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds, olives, avacados, etc. Then you have a medium size portion of meat, fish, poultry.
I believe if you research it on the internet you can find the more exact portion sizes if you want something more specific. This diet is also known to be very heart healthy too, because you get your fats from nuts, seeds, olives and avacados.
I personally follow this diet and just brown my meat in a skillet, spice to taste, then throw in my veggies, add sauce (saute) then mix them in with my pasta when done. (I could eat these different variations of pasta dishes every day of my life) and you can get creative with different meats, spices, sauces, mushrooms, black olives, avacados on the side, have salads...with all the trimmings...the possibilities are endless..
As long as you are exercising you will need the carbs anyway. Definitely keep the exercise up! It's very very good for you! It will speed up your metabolism and improve your cardiovascular system.
