Q: I am thinking about learning to play the guitar, electric and acustic. My school social worker showed me one in the form of an acustic, but I would like to know where I can find one that is inexpensive and is in the shape of an electric?{the triangle that looks like it has a triangle taken out of it}
One, get a guitar teacher who has a degree in music or a masters in it.

Second, the guitar you want, which is called a Flying V is made by Gibson, an extremely popular guitar company. There are many models and they aren't cheap. The rip offs are never going to sound as good, so I suggest workign yuor way up. Go to your local Guitar Center store and ask what the best beginer guitars are.

And as for the girl, dont just try and learn soem songs really quick and play em to her. Like, get really good at this instrument before you try and sawy her heart.

Q: Does anyone know of any sites where I can find sweat shirts or hoodies of bands besides their own sites? Some of the bands I want are:

Underoath
Fall Out Boy
From First to Last
Hawthorne Heights
All-American Rejects
Taking Back Sunday

Those are just some. But if you know of any websites that you can buy band clothing from besides their own sites id greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much you guys!
Try Interpunk.com or Smartpunk.com.

Have fun!

Q: I determined to find some new bands to like, I don't really want any mainstream bands just like, got-to-their-shows bands. I don't really, like much emo and I don't like any skater/incucbus/audioslave type music. I am into punkish music and music with synthesizers but not techno. My favorite artists are Bjork, Polyphonic Spree, Aquabats, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, Cranberries, Len, and Electric Light Orchestra. I am cool with Ska as well. Just give me a list of bands that I could listen to and I'll be satisfied.
Well, definitely check out:

-Suburban Legends (but hopefully being a ska kid you already listen to them)
-Lucky Boys COnfusion (same as I said above)
-The Army of Freshmen
-Hellogoodbye
-Bensin
and maybe check out Ok Go.

Hope that gives you some new things to add to your playlist!

Q: about how many 3-5 songs could a 512MB mp3 player hold?
About 140, I believe.

Q: Hey, im going to a concert that has acceptance, panic! at the disco and the academy is.. and i was wondering if anyone knew any good songs by them. i have a lot of The academy is..
but i only have i miss you and different by acceptance
and a few by panic at the disco
so if anyone knows any really good ones, then thanks!
All three of those bands are worth your money and time. So, definitely pick up all of their albums. All of their songs are pretty amazing.

Have fun at the show! TAI have a great live presence.

Q: what is better for music for an ipod :
ares or limewire.. and why
iTunes, cause, well downloading music kinda sucks for your favorite bands - not just for the evil major labels.

Q: Does anyone know of any websites where you can get cheap posters of like bands and stuff?
Maybe smartpunk.com, or hot topic's online store (although it's not so cheap). Also, ebay is a great cheap poster spot.

Q: My sister and i are going to see mindless self indulgence, a band, and both of our cars arent that great and the drive will be about 3hrs or so. How will we get there?, My sisters car can do it but shes really worried about her car actually making it there and back.
Well, there's always buses, metros, cabs. You name it. You can get anywhere for cheaper than those damned huge gas prices. Or hitch a ride with anoth MSI fan.

They rule. Have fun!

Q: ok i listen to music like fall out boy, my chemical romance, hot hot heat, green day, 3 doors down, system of a down and all kind of music like that but im lookin for some new bands can anyone help me out??
Well, some you migt like are:

The Rocket Summer
Rancid
Atreyu
Bensin
HelloGoodbye
and The Academy Is...

For any type of music advice, feel free to ask anytime!

I listen to way to many genres and bands to not have a recommendation for you. =D

Q: I am new to this site and it seems infested with young teenagers asking about bands who care more about their image than their music. Since when do trends like black hair and girls jeans take precedence on what muscians are there for in the first place? Everyone is following a cookie cutter sound and it seems no one cares about throwing something fresh into the music community and that the only way to get noticed is to follow the crowd.

I guess what I'm asking is, are the cookie cutter image based bands just marketed well and forced upon youth, or are kids not being exposed to the real music enough for them to get into it?
First off, have you ever been in a band?

If you haven't, the fact is that sometimes fans go a little, wlell, crazy. You put yourself in a poistion where kids will idolize you, wheather your a MTV or Underground musician. Some kids like to take little things from you because they think your cool: you look, your music style, you hair cut, you name it. Fans are fans. They're nothing musicians can do about it.

Kids hear what they hear. That's life for ya.
