does anyone know the song playing in the commercials for showing when it comes on?
it's some girls singing. (link)
|
I believe it is Janet Jackson's new song "Feedback"
|
what does "gitchi gitchi ya ya da da" mean? (link)
|
I am pretty sure it's just ad-libbing and it doesn't really mean anything.

i have to play this (the 3rd movement) for an audition on janurary 12th.
i was wondering what tips you have for the overall musicality of the piece- or anything i can do to impress the judges with it.
im 16 and have been playing for 7 years about. this orchestra is pretty big (half the state is auditioning) (link)

lol @ answer below me. There are no keys on a viola. Anywho, the advice I have you may very well know already, but just incase i will say what I think anyway. Learn the piece inside and out first, just normally. Then, what I usually do is to find a way to connect myself to the piece. what does it say to me? what does it remind me of? i try to make the piece as personal as possible, and through that i can play with my own little "touch". add your own little flare here and there, without completely changing the original feeling of the piece itself. i don't know if this will help, but i tried my best. :)

I'm considering to audition for my school talent show but i'm still debating about it.
All my family tell me I can sing, and try and encourage me but i'm still really unsure.
Btw, I'm not on here fishing for compliments, I want people to be comepletley honest with me;
So If you could listen to this and tell me what you think it would be much appreciated..

Sounds good. You just need more breath support, especially when you are singing high in your range to avoid going flat. If you practice that, and by using your diaphram for breath support to push those notes you, you will be good to go.

Hiii, I was just wondering what you thought of my voice, ha I personally think I'm okay, but yeah tell me what you think [: .. Oh by the way, I messed up a couple of times, sorry, and I look bad in this video, just letting you know.

You aren't bad, but you need to learn how to sing in full voice. You will sound a million times better. Perhaps take some voice lessons or take a chorus class if you have one at your school.

The lyrics are actually "my best friend's hot.." not heart. The song is called "My Best Friend's Hot" by The Dollyrots

how do you siong with vibrato? i really want that vibratesound in my coive but i cant achieve it!! help please! dont tell me to go to a vacal coach cuz i cant afford
i reall wanna lern so bad im thirteen and everytime i try bibrato it doesnt work (link)

It is unusual for a singer not to have any natural vibrato in the voice and may indicate bad singing habits, incorrect breathing or posture problems.
If you are having problems achieving vibrato whilst singing here are a few tips to practice:-
Ensure your breathing is correct
Improve your posture
Hang your head and completely relax your neck, throat, facial muscles & mouth
In this position sing a gentle Ooooooooaaaaah
Practice your vowels & constonants
Practice yawning whilst singing a note
Practice holding a long note
Practice singing 'trills' (a note performed in rapid alteration with the note above it)
If you try to "make" vibrato, it will end up being an ugly warble--if not right away, then eventually. Vibrato is the natural product of singing without undue tension. Every part of your body, including your throat, neck, jaw, forehead, and shoulders should feel tension-free when you sing. (The exception is your diaphragm and perhaps your behind muscles.) This will give you a long-lasting, and more beautiful, voice. When you achieve this, vibrato will come naturally. That said, you probably already sing with some vibrato. Very few people sing with a pure "straight" tone, unless they do so on purpose. You might tape yourself singing (a hand held cassette recorder works fine for this) and then listen back to the recording. You will almost certainly detect some vibrato, although it may be very gentle and unobtrusive.

what is the different between different types of slides for guitar? glass, chrome, etc.? what is the sound difference? (link)
|
Glass slides have a mellow sound, but they are more fragile and can break. Metal slides are sturdy and produce a sharper sound. I would avoid chrome slides because they give you a thinner, colder sound. Try on a slide and test it on a guitar in the store before purchasing it to make sure it fits and you like the sound.
Also watch the diameter of the slide, it should be tight enough not to roll about, but wide enough for you to be able to brace your finger against the inside of it, to have more control over the pressure you put on the strings.
