Q: I play club volleyball and I am trying to decide if I should also play basketball. It would really help me out but I don't know if I like basketball or not?
First off, this is sort of a good problem to have. It means you are an active person which is good for both your social and physical health.

You obviously enjoy volleyball otherwise you wouldn't be playing this particular sport. As far as basketball goes (which happens to be my personal favorite sport) I say it can't hurt to try it out.

I would look into the possibility to trying to play both. I know the seasons probably overlap a bit but many coaches will be accomodating to a student's schedule when it comes to particiapting in multiple non-academic activities.

If it turns out that you don't have the time or energy to do both or your coaches are not the accomodating kind, or any other obsticle gets in the way, there is another option.

Since you're not sure whether or not bacsketball is for you, you can always participate in club volleyball for the season and hold off on basketball. After your season is over, you can take the time to meet up with friends or classmates that have an interest in basketball and just play together at a local playground or as part of a community league. This should help you figure out how you feel about this sport.

Good luck.

Wow! That really helped! THANKS!
