My mom and I dont get along. For example, i listen to music revolving around Harry Potter (wizard rock) she says Im doing it to purposefully annoy her since she doesn't like it.
I explained that i was not doing it to annoy her and I really did like to listen to it.
She said that if i listened to it in private (headphones, when shes not in the room.
So, today i was dancing to one of them, with my headphones in and when she wasn't there, like she said. I was having a good time. She came down and blew up at me because i was listening to it. I reminded her of what she said and she shouted she never said that. (note: her memory is fine) then she said
"maybe i should call your teachers and tell all them how disrespectful you are, and how they think you're a perfect angel. But really a brat!"
I did what she told me to!
Please give me some advice, i really dont want to lose my music!
Ps: there is nothing bad in my music.

First off I must say I took your question because I actually listen to Wrock (Wizard Rock) and am a huge Potterhead!! Anyway as to why your mother got mad after you challenged her and showed her the lyrics and pointed out she said you could listen to it alone, she felt defeated in the argument and parents don't generally enjoy letting their kids win, so some make up excuses that don't even make sense just to maintain "control" over the situation. I must ask are your parents very big into religion and sheltering you? Because that is the only type of parent that I have ever seen have a problem with their children being involved with the Potter World because it involves *gasp* witchcraft. If that is so then there is the answer to why your family is seemingly for no reason against your love for Wizard Rock. Another reason may just be what I first said. She wants to maintain control and has taken this so over the top that she forgot that the only reason she ever disliked it was because she found it annoying or uninteresting and nothing more and the rest of the family is backing up mom because that's usually how it goes or (with how your mom sounds, no offense) because they are scared not to. What I suggest you do about this is listen to it anyway. With headphones so they don't know you are listening to it or when you are home alone or away from home. Normally I would not suggest defying your parents wishes but this is quite frankly rather silly. Wizard rock makes you happy and you are not hurting yourself or others through listening to it so, listen to it! Fandom things like Wrock are some of the great things that's makes being a Potterhead fun! And the Harry Potter fan base is an amazing community of awesome people that I encourage you to stick with and further explore!! I hope this helps. Good luck:)

I think your advice was the best, thanks! It's wierd that even when i have headphones my mom always seems to know that im listening to it!
By the way I like Ministry of Magic and The Parseltounge's the best. Have you heard them?
