about
I'm just an average person. I love to help people out :) it makes me feel better about myself. I've been in a lot of situations so I can most likely relate to a lot of your problems. I know what it feels like to not have anyone to talk to about your problems, which is why i'm an advicenator. I'm ready to help people and be there for everyone who needs advice or just a companion to speak out to. I'm always here if you need me, don't hesitate to drop a question or even just a vent/rant note about a problem to my advice column inbox. I respond to all of them regardless of the topic. I'm upfront and abrupt about my answers and never sugarcoat. Take my advice or not, but i'm just doing my job :)Played volleyball for over 10 years, also a coach. I love to try new things. Currently I'm trying the new sport of tennis and learning about my passion of photography.
advice
I am a freshman female in college. I've been moved in for about three months now. Some of my neighbors in my dorm are really rude and clique-y, I've made friends with some of the nice ones and then there's my cute neighbor who is really shy. He plays guitar and talks to people and has friends but he is usually with his roommate or in his room studying. I've realized lately, that he has been branching out and hanging out with some of our other neighbors. He even talked to my roommate. Yet, when he and I cross paths in the hall way or somewhere, he can barely look at me, he looks at the ground after looking at me straight in the eyes for about two seconds. We've never talked either. I don't know why this is. I can't tell if it is just because he's shy or I intimidate him or maybe (hopefully) he has a teensy crush on me. He can talk to his roommate, obviously, he talks to my roommate, he made friends with a good majority of our other neighbors except for a small handful. Why can't he talk to me or even look at me?
That's cute haha.
If I were you, I would initiate the friendship. Make an excuse to talk to him. For example, last year in our dorms around thanksgiving/christmas time we made these goodie bags with candies in them and a little note saying happy holidays. I thought it was just a nice gesture to all our neighbors. Try doing something like that and giving them out personally to your neighbors. Make sure he is in his room when you deliver his. Knock on the door and say "happy holidays! here's a goody bag!" and then introduce yourself. Find a topic starter that will make him interested and want to talk. For example, mention that he has a cool guitar and ask him how long he's played it. Then you just take it from there. Make sure to smile and be friendly because then he knows you're open to a friendship. Next time you see him, make eye contact (very important) smile and say "hey".
