Hello im 19/f and im a healthy weight and height for my age. I want to start eating healthy and stay away from fatty foods. I have problems with buying junk food or microwavable food because its quick and easy. After the holidays im gonna get a membership at the YMCA and start working out.. but i think i need a push on that one too because i hate working out. Everybody has told me bring a friend to help encourage me but all my friends work 40 hours a week and never seem to have time. I also have a problem with when im hungry i stop at McDonald or some other fast food place. Its like this overwhelming need to have it. Almost like its an addiction when i get hungry. How can i stop this? I feel good when im eating junk food but once im full i really regret it and the food makes me sick to my stomach and feel like crap. The thing is when i get hungry i dont care if the food will hurt my stomach, i just want to eat it. Also i say i want to stop drinking soda. I tell myself after this 12 pack im gonna not drink it anymore but i find myself buying more and more. Anyways how can i stop all of this? I want to get healthy and start eating right but its hard. Nothing in the healthy part of the store seems to interest me. I tell myself i wont eat that so why should i buy it. I just need help! Any advice on what i should do? Thanks and i do rate (link)

No matter your weight, you are making a great decision to eat healthy and begin a regular fitness routine. Approx. 1 year ago I weighed in at 309 lbs. I am 5'5" since that time I have lost 120 pounds by implementing consistent changes in my lifestyle. Just like any other vice like alcohol or smoking, it is extremely difficult to stop eating fast food, quick snacks and soda. I work in a restaurant and have a very busy life, so fast food was perfect for a quick meal. Here are a few options and suggestions that might help you. Use snack substitutions like mini carrots (no ranch dip) celery, quakes (mini flavored rice cakes) to name a few. Eating at fast food restaurants can actually provide a well balanced meal when chosen correctly. For example, many places offer veggie burger options, with this, make sure to ask for no dressings. Each bun depending on size can have 200-400 calories. Cut that in half by removing half the bun and tossing it. Also, choosing a skinless chicken breast over any red meat will help you immensely. ABSOLUTELY NO FRIED FOODS! Cut that out now and your heart will thank you later. And remember, smaller portions more often. As far as loving your soda goes..... Substitute this with a green tea, this will still give you some caffeine to help with cravings (beware of ready made store bought) make sure to check the labels. Cutting the soda out of your life will be hard for about 7 days, and then all of a sudden, it will taste awful. One more thing, a significant change in your eating habits will cause a significant increase in your energy and mental clarity, this may help you to get to the gym to start up a routine. I have hundreds of food substitution options if you have any questions. Sorry if this answer was too long or skipped around. Good luck and feel free to ask me anything else you want to know.
