My mom was talking to me about sex (just had my period for the first time) and she said my egg would be "fertilized" if I had sex? This is stupid I'm sure cause she didn't seem weird when she said it. She knew what she was talking about. Where is my eggs? I mean like I know they're in my body some place (obviously?) but where are the eggs stored or whatever? And are they LIKE eggs you buy at the store in some way or totally different? (link)

No, really, your Mom told you the truth!
Check out: http://kidshealth.org/parent/general/body_basics/female_reproductive_system.html
Eggs are produced in your ovaries which are outside of your vagina near the end of the fallopian tubes. About every 28 days or so, an egg is released, and travels down the fallopian tubes.
If that egg a sperm and it becomes fertilized, it settles into the uterus and grows into a baby. If it does not become fertilized, it passes through and the lining of the uterus, which had gotten thick in preparation for a baby, and that is your period.
They are much, much smaller than eggs you buy in a store, and they have no shell. You are born with all the eggs you will ever have.
