M/18. I suffer from deep depression everyday of my life, nothing makes me happy and everyday I think about suicide. What should I do about this? (link)
18 is a difficult age, there's a lot going on in your life- even if it seems like there isn't anything going on (if that makes any sense). I'm 22 and when I was 18 I felt like that alot of the time too, even now sometimes I still do. But one thing that I've learned with depression is that although you're feeling negative emotions and just really down that at least you're still feeling something. Practice being optimistic looking at things from a different perspective if at all possible. In my circumstance I know that you're constantly thinking, almost like you're in your own head too much and maybe evaluating things a little too closely. I think that you should definitely find someone to talk to about your thoughts and feelings, and if you don't feel close enough or comfortable enough to talk to someone you already know reach out to your community like a therapist or even a hotline. Talking helps, it really does. And just know that even when you feel really horrible that someday things will be better. Things always get better even when it seems that they won't. It's been proven to me over and over again. I hope that even one sentence in this helps you. Also a hotline to try is 1-800-273-TALK (8255). It's totally free and confidential. Think about some of the things that you used to enjoy doing or that made you feel good and try to get back into the habit of doing those, eventually you might find that you enjoy them again. Good luck hun, and keep writing :)
