Okay, I want to be a fashion designer. I am so dedicated to this field of work. I make clothing alot, I made a bubble dress that I wore to picture day at school and everyone loved it asking me if I could make them one. I think I truly have a knack for this, I love it and I wouldn't give up designing for my life, I know I have all these ideas and a notebook, Lacey, that I carry around with me so I can draw down what I want to make next. This is so appealing to me, I just love it, I have all these great ideas! I saw on the news a girl my age, 15, was making clothes like me and she's big and famous already. Does anybody know what she did or have an idea of how she got to where she is, I mean, I have my own website showing off what I made but I heard Mrs. Obama is buying a dress from her! I want that. Anybody, please help me in achieving this. (link)

How old are you? Since you have a strong feeling that you want to be a fashion designer, you should follow up into it. To begin your career, you should try and make the clothes you design (if not, ask your mother to take you to a tailor and strike a deal) and "advertise" your clothes by wearing them. Don't forget your education, you will need decent grades to get a decent degree to apply for a job. I recommend you getting summer jobs in clothing stores like Abercrombie or Express. Once you have some recognition, you should try and open up your own clothing store. I remember a story about how Ralph Lauren (I think he started Polo? Not sure anymore) started his clothing label from a small-tie collection store.
Some things to remember:
1. Take art classes. Sketching is a very important skill in designing.
2.Show professionalism. Very important in looking for a job to start your career.
3.Don't give up, stick to your dream. I have many friends who gave up on their dreams, and now regret their lives.
