for my chemistry homework, i have to find denstity, mass, and volume. im stuggling with three problems..
1. the density of gold is 19.3 g/cm cubed. what is the mass of 11.3 cm cubed of gold?

2. the density of ice is .917 g/cm cubed. how much volume does 52.3 g of ice occupy?

3. if 1.35 g of aluminum occupies .500 cm cubed. what is the density of aluminum?

for number 1, how do i find the mass from the density? for 2, how do i find the volume from the density? and then for 3, how do i find the density if i dont know the mass and volume?

The equation for density is: density=mass/volume.

Therefore, for #1: 19.3= m/11.3
To solve, multiply both sides by 11.3 to get m by itself, and then you should get m= 19.3*11.3

For #2: d= m/v
So... .917= 52.3/v
Solve for v and you should get: v=52.3/.917

For #3: d=m/v

d= 1.35/.500, simply divide and you get your density :)
