I am 17 years old. I was 16 when this happened, i went to Andover, Ohio with a friend to get her computer fixed. (an hour and half away) My father new, who i was with, where i was at, and had a number to get a hold me at. He called the cops on me because i didnt get home until late it took for ever to fix her computer. He told the cops he didnt know were i was he didnt have a number to reach me. ( it was in his cell phone and written on the board at my house.) basically claimed i was missing. when i returned home i got out of a car in my parking lot and walked to my door and a cop pulled up who had been sitting in the parking lot waiting. well now i have to go to court on monday. I wish I could tell you that there is something you can do, but because were a minor then, and still are, your father can react in any way that he chooses as far as you are concerned because he is the legal guardian. Your state might have a law stating differently, but in my state it's totally legal with what your father did. If you live in Ohio look at your state laws (you can find them online), if you live out of state then look at that states laws, but you might also have to look up town or county laws if your area has a specific curfew or laws if you are a repeat offender. Every place is different. I'm not sure if I answered your question(you never really asked one, just said what was happening)
