Don't hurt his feelings.. You should tell him. Guys are very self-conscious when it comes to performance. You should be open about masturbation because it's perfectly healthy. You aren't embarrassed when you have sex, so you shouldn't be embarrassed about telling him you masturbate.
If you want to gain back your stimulation down there, you have to leave it alone! Your body is too acclimated to it. Think about it like this: Say you love Domino's pizza.
