Q: we have a 7th and 8th grade dance on the 14th and im on the committee that gets to pick songs played and i need ideas! and dont feel like they need to be all corny though some do, but like the DJ even plays songs like "crank dat soulja boy" so its not cheese songs like "cotton nai jo (sp?)" all the time lol. so ideas??? im making a list. thanks for answering! =] and they dont have to be all current cause some current music sucks! it can be old, and it doesnt all have to be all pop. it can be hiphop, rap, pop, rock, etc! make a list babes! thanksss

Cotton eyed joe is a cheese filled dance classic.
Is it a fast-song dance or a mixed fast and slow song dance? Cause if you need some good, non-cheesy slow songs (ones they dont play every single dance), i LOVE Tuesday's gone by Lynard Skynard. It's an old one, but its fantastic.
See if you can find Hava Nagila, i think its by the party animals or something, it's a good, weird, fast one that everyone loves.
I know I may be crucified for saying this, but try to get them NOT to play crank dat solja boy. It's the macarena of this generation... Try to do a dance without it.

yea thats what im aiming for. instead, they are gonna do soulja boy remixes haha which are a lot better than the actual crank dat song. cotton eyed joe gets really old though.. we need to do a dance without that too! but thanks for those song suggestions! :)
