Hi, I call myself Ignatz after Dan Herriman's character in the old "Krazy Kat" comic strip. I'm 44, father of 3, husband to one, crazy about music and books and food and movies and history and martial arts. I've had some wild and crazy times in my life, and I figure I might as well put in some of my perspective.
I promise not to talk down to anyone or make fun,and I promise not to BS anyone. If you're old enough to ask a frank question, you're old enough to get a frank answer. Oh, and if you ask me a question directly, please be patient. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. My life's a bit hectic. :-)

I'm giving a presentation on rastafari (both culture and religion) and I need to make it as creative and interesting as possible! Other than dressing up like one, do you have any ideas that could make it cool?
It spoth an oral, and written assignment. For the written part I'm thinking of making a poster instead of just handing in a bunch of papers stapled together. But I have nothing cool in mind for the oral part - any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks :) (link)

I wouldn't recommend speaking in faux-Jamaican patois, as it is easy to do poorly and will just make you look silly. I'd emphasize the connections between the Rasta movement and Ethiopian independence from Italy, and bring in pictures of Haile Selassie (aka Ras Tafari), then relate Rasta to other Black Power movements and leaders (Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Nation of Islam, Black Panthers, etc.) As you no doubt know, Rasta isn't all reggae, ganja and dreadlocks. It's about living a clean life, being proud of your heritage, and fighting for justice.
Hope this helps.
