Is there a way to avoid throwing up after running really hard?
That is my question and the story behind it is this:
I do track at school, and I run the 1000 which is 5 laps on the indoor track. However, after a minute or so after I run it for like 10-15 minutes I have to be in the bathroom cause I keep gagging. I've never actually puked, although have been pretty close to it. I don't know if this affects it, but the air in the track is EXTREMEMLY dry, which causes me to cough [which partially caused the gagging].
If the air is less dry, would that make it better or worse?
Ask your coach if you can run with a water bottle. Take small sips once in a while, not too much or it will make you sick.
Also, if the water is ice cold, that can cause some stomach problems, so be sure that the water is cool, but not freezing cold.
Make sure you are hydrated throughout the day, and that you eat well.
When you run, try to breath evenly, which doesn't mean slow steady breaths, it just means don't take a huge breath and several little gasps. Basically have a certain "rhythm" to your breathing.
I think if the air was less dry it will make it better, however that is my opinion based on logical reasoning and there is no science behind it.
