about

I am a married police/fire/medical dispatcher. I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2002 with my BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and will be seeking my MA in Conflict Negotioation and Crisis resolution in the fall of 2008. I like being the person that people come to when they have concerns because I have a solid head on my shoulders and try to greet everyone fairly. That being said, if you're kidding yourself or being selfish I'll be the very first person to tell you that you need to get off your behind and go do something with your life because nobody is going to do it for you.

I believe that taking personal responsibility for your actions is key to living and loving life. If you never blame anyone else for things you had control over people will respect you and forgive you your transgressions. Lying is never worth the words you waste and nothing (NOTHING) is worth lying about. If you feel the need to lie about it you seriously need to reconsider your motivation, your relationship, or whatever else factors into you deciding that lying is a good decision.

Take a look at those people that you surround yourself with. Are they really worth your time or are they energy vampires that are trying to remove the life from you, your cashflow, or your time? Think about that, those relationships must also assist you in bettering your life NOT just theirs.

Please contact me, even if it's just to tell me that I'm full of crap. If you say it in a meaningful and honest way I will consider what you're saying.

Remember: communication is key. God Bless!

advice

okay so i have been sick for a long time, like 3 weeks or so and i have been to the doctor like 3 times. so the first time i went he gave me this migrane medicine, and it made my migranes even worse, it was horrible, and he gave me this other medicine cuase he thought i had a sinus infection, and i didn't. then second time he gave me this new kind of migrane medicine, and it didn't help at all either and i just kept feeling even worse and the migranes kept on coming along with feeling natious and being dizzy. so i decided to go back to the doctor and this time he gave me new medicine that is anti-depressant medicine, i am not using it for those purposes, but if you take a low dose of it, it is supposed to help prevent migranes. and along with that, he is not sure what is wrong with me, so he is making me go get on MRI, and since i am clostraphobic, they have to put me out. i have never gotten and MRI before and i am REALLY scared. i am getting it on saturday and im not getting the really easy brain scan one, im getting like a full body 2 hour one that is super loud i have heard. so, if anyone has ever gotten an MRI before please explain to me how it works and what happens and stuff? and also how fast do you get your results because i am also scared about those... thanks!

I have not had an MRI before but I have been "put under" several times (including for surgery just last Thursday) and as a former needle-phobic I would like to be the very first to assure you that you're making it so much worse than it is. Be very happy that they're putting you to sleep for this because otherwise it would be very long and boring. This way you'll be getting a lovely nap while they do all the hard work!

I am so sorry that you're having a migrane problem. I've also been on several medications for migranes which really did not seem to help. I'm not sure if anything of the things I've tried has helped or if my migrane problem has largly solved itself but I sugges that you look into massage which can be covered by insurance if your doctor will write you a perscription, also chiropractic (could be a compressed nerve problem), and overall stress reduction in your life.

You may also look into your nutrition and try eliminating things such as chocolate, wine, dairy products (cheese, coffee creamer, ice cream, yogurt, etc) red onions, and anything else that you feel might be worth eliminating for a week or two to see if it makes a difference.

I hope this helps and you find your solution soon. Happy healing.
