Hi, My name's Rae, I'm a 17/f. My 19 yr old boyfriend just left for the Navy like, an hour ago. He's going to basic training and I won't be able to talk to him on the phone as often or see him at all until 9 weeks (His family and I are driving to Chicago for his graduation in late March). I just need to know how I can deal with this. It's so hard for me to be away from someone that I truly love. We've been together for so long and I feel so out of place without him. Please, help. Love, Rae. (link)
I was in a similar situation, so I know how you feel. What I did to pass the time during his BT was I would write down something(s) I wanted to tell him every day that I couldn't talk to him. When I could finally start sending him letters, it was the first thing I sent him and it really meant a lot for both of us.

There isn't much you can do to ease the seperation anxiety except to know that when you finally get to speak to him again, how much you've been thinking about him every day can actually be expressed into words-- because you've been writing it all down. And it just makes it that much more special when you're able to communicate again.

Thanks so much, I really think I'm going to start doing that!
