Hey so I'm thinking of getting a nose ring but I'm on poms so I'll have to take it out for competitions and stuff. So, I'm wondering how long is it from when you first get it until you can take it out? And I'd just be taking it out for 12 hours at the most.
yeah. i've had mine for over 6 months. sometimes i have to re-pierced it when my jewelry comes out. The healing process can take from a few weeks to 2 months. do you really want a nose ring or a stud? you'll have to start with a stud first because you'll have to rotate the piercing time from time. there will be dried blood and if you have a ring.. you'll just move it and possibly tear the inside of your nose.. and infection! I had to gauge my nose for a ring and rotating was a pain, so i can imagine if you just got it pierced.. it would be horrible. you can get a tiny stud. i know stores carry retainers:

it's bad to keep the piercing out for an hour, so i doubt it can last 12 hours without you having to re pierce it.
by the way, get it done with a 18g needle. there IS a difference between 20g. i had trouble finding rings with a 20g.
