advice

On Monday my teacher warned my Eight Grade class that we are going to have a classroom spelling. Whoever passes it will go to the School Spelling Bee, which i am very excitd about, because i am a GREAT speller. Although I don't know what the words are going to be, I am very anxious, curious, and scared that I don't know how to spell a word because I never heard or seen it before.

Any tips on how I canbe good at Spelling Bees?
And also do you guys know where I can find the words that are frequently used in Spelling Bees? Either class spelling bees or school, or BOTH :)

I could really use your heklp for my advantage/benefits. I would gladly appreciate if you take your time to give me some advice and help me out so I will feel good & confident when it is my turn to spell, rather than freaking out.

Conclusion:
I REALLY WANT TO GET TO THE TOP AND WIN THE SCHOOL SPELLING BEE SINCE I DIDN'T WIN THE GEOGRAPHY BEE. I KNOW I NEED TO STUDY THE WORDS EACH DAY AND NOT CRAM ALL THE WORDS IN MY HEAD 3 DAYS BEFORE THE COMPETITION. BUT DO YOU GUYS KNOW ANY WAY HOW TO HELP ME OUT WITH WORDS? ANY TRICKS AND TIPS?

More:
Do you guys know any hard words that you think I can spell?

If there's more to say, please add more information and go beyond the advice, meaning, give a really helpful advice to me.

I'm glad to see someone else enthused about spelling! I won my schools spelling bee in 7th grade, and went on to regionals - and spelling my word wrong due to nerves, but the experience was such a thrill and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Here's some tips and strategies I used when studying for the bee, I hope they help!

STRATEGIES FOR SPELLING:
Think about the word, and where you've seen it before. Close your eyes are try to invision the world. If you need to - you can spell the word with the finger. I suggest these two things because these were things that helped me win my schools spelling bee.

STUDYING STRATEGIES:
+ Studying language of origins
- each language of origin has different tricks, and if you know these it'll be easier for you to spell the world
+ try reading some news articles, and you'll be suprised to find interesting words.
- if you see a word you don't know, circle it, look it up on dictionary.com, and from that you'll know it's context
+ whenever a teacher says a word you haven't heard before write down how you think it's spelled, and ask the teacher afterwards how infact you do spell it.
+ grab a friend, and have them pick random words out of the dictionary and let them quiz you

All those things are little, but they definitely add up! I used those, and from experience I can say they helped me.

Remember to have fun with this, and I wish you the best! (:

P.S. You know anything is possible! My friend won 3rd in the Scripps National Bee a few years back as well! SO you can do it if you put your mind to it!
