I'm 18 and I'm getting my first credit card. I'm enrolled in college. I just want the best credit card. I just need to start getting credit. (link)
I suggest looking into a card that has all of the features that you personally need. If you think you'll be doing some traveling get one that has a great miles program. If you really want to save some money get a card that will put the change from your purchases into you're savings account. If you are looking for something flexible get a card that will allow you to change your plan as you please. Shop around and find the card that fits your needs best, then go to that bank and set up an account and remember that it's always best to pay the full amount rather than the 10% because that's how people fall into debt. Never buy something unless you already have the money for it in the bank, and remember that it's not instant money...you'll have to pay it off when the bill comes in. I know people that have made these mistakes and I did everything I could to avoid them and my credit is great. I've got an American Express Card that rounds all of my purchases up to the next dollar and the change goes straight to my savings account. it's wonderful. so do your homework and figure out what's the best plan for you.

Thank you. You actually answered my question instead of just saying don't get a credit card.
