I'm looking for an out-of-this-world camera. I have a Canon PowerShot SD630. Its a really nice camera, 12x zoom, 6.0 mega pixels, huge screen. Its great for a casual camera.
Howeverrrr, I'm looking for an awesome digital professional camera. One of those Nikon or Canon ones that range from $800-1200. I want a crystal clear photo in almost any light situation. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What I did to look for a camera was go on this site:

I looked through Nikon and Canon ones since I've used cameras by the brand before. You can try searching by brands, price, type [I suggest SLR] and megapixels. Make sure you read the reviews because it becomes helpful to any problems in the camera and what you can do to fix/change it. Save the links to the ones that stick out for you and look up pictures that people took with that camera By using flickr.com or deviantart.com It really helped me.
Canon's Rebel Xti stuck out to me (and i have a low budget so i'm sure you'll find something more professional) Try to go for a camera with at least 10 megapixels. (SLR's are around $600+) More megapixels and the better the picture quality will be. I do hate having pictures with limited colors and blur so I made sure to get something high in MP's!
So i put "Canon Rebel Xti" in flickr

I really don't like to go out and buy a camera.. go through that "trial and error" stage. So I end up searching for many photos taken by that camera and see how great the quality is in well lit/dark places.
You won't get a clear photo in a dark place unless there's some good lighting, whether you make your own "lighting studio" or not. I know there's some secrets out there that I haven't figured out.
Also you have to take in account the lenses you buy. It will depend on what kind of photographs you want to take.
I'm probably not much help with professional cameras since I haven't worked with one yet.
