Im 16/f and me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year. We have sex, but hes at college, so we're not doing it as much. But I still wanna get on birthcontrol, but I have no idea how to tell my mom. She asked me before, but I said no. Now I dont want you guys thinking im a whore, bc Im not. My mother always told me it would be better to tell her I wanted to get on it because I was going to have sex because she would rather me tell her than not and end up pregnant. Well, I ended up going on BC myself, then got off...then thought i was pregnant once. My mom found out I was having sex and was more disappointed that I didn't just go to her to get on bc rather than keep it from her.
All in all she really told me just tell her when I thought I would be ready. And from what I can tell she meant it...I think your mother would rather you go to her than do it behind her back and risk something happening.
