I'm 13/f, and I have an overprotective mom. She can't leave me home alone for 15 minutes. I was going to my friend's house. I told my mom that my friend's babysitter was going to be there, which was true, and my mom didn't believe me. She followed me to my friend's door and STUCK her head into the house, and looked around. I was SO embarrassed. She could have at least asked my friend if her mom was home or something. And I'm going to my friend's house soon and I'm so scared that my mom will follow me to the door again. My mom never used to be so overprotective. HELP!! How do I get to calm her nerves down? I live in a town where nothing bad has ever happened. (link)

so..ur 13yrs old?..well your mums going to be worried becuase in her eyes she stills sees you as her baby girl!..the little girl whos growing up way too fast...she may be trying to hold onto you as you grow..your mother must realise that she has to let you grow on your own..however, you must alos realise that your mum has good intentions..and she woories becuase she loves you..soo dont be upset or cause an arguemnt when she does she loves you and cares for you thats why she does these things. mayb you should try and take a smaller step..instead of sepnding a day with jus you and a freind..spend it with take her shopping with..i know you might think tahts gay cause you dont want your mum hanging around with you but jus try theres no harm!...then hit at the bigger steps!..soo first take your mum with you and then slowly..try on ur own...you have to gain her trust!!..please let me know if i heloped or even if i didint x
