okay, about a month ago a guy i liked asked me "whats up" and i was like "nothing" and then i said "whats up" and he said "nothing" LOL. its funny looking back now but back then it was sooo awkward.

do you say "nothing" or do you launch into a full account of what you've done all week? im confuseedd. btw this applies to people you're not total strangers with BUT don't really know well enough to give a full account of everything that's happened in the day.

honestly, i think there should be an unspoken social rule that acquaintances dont say "whats up" to each other. =[

thanks in advance lovess

Well, usually if someone asks me that question, I just say one exciting thing that happened, is happening, or will happen to me. It's a great conversation starter. For example:

"What's up?"
"Well... prom's tonight!"
"Blahblahblahblah"
*Smile and nod*
"Blahblahblahblah"
"So how are you doing?" (Or reflect the same question back at them; "So what's up with you?", and they will probably answer in the same way you did, another topic starter.)
