what is college really like?

how is it different from high school? i remember wondering how high school was different from middle school and its more free, i guess. people dont hang out in cliques as much and stuff.

Well, I'm 16, but I have taken quite a few classes at my local junior community college (junior college only goes up to bachelor degree).

First of all, people are sooo nice. The atmosphere is completely different because almost all the people are there by their own choice, unlike high school where things can get pretty negative because you are forced to go to high school. People usually leave you alone (although you will be approached a lot by guys trying to sell you a cd that their band made.)

The classes usually start out full, but by the end of the semester some of the people drop the class (that's another nice thing about college, you can quit the class you taking, or change teachers).

There are also pretty much no cliques, because by then people are mature enough to realize that cliques are stupid.

Most classes that you will take will be much harder and much more detailed than the ones in high school, but most people manage it.

Also, depending how many classes you're taking, and what time they start, you might not even have to wake up early in the morning! (Although most people do anyways for last minute studying for tests). And it is almost garuanteed that you will have a few hours between classes. But seriously though, you have to study like crazy.

Sorry I can't tell you much about dorm life, except that dorm rooms are very small, usually ugly. There's also a lot of partying. That's all I know... =/
