AdviceI feel so stupid for asking this, but what EXACTLY is happening in Iraq? Why are we fighting them? What is Bush doing that is making him so hated? Is there anything else that I should know about?I really want to be politically informed! The war started because The UN weapons inspectors weren't allowed to do thier job properly. George Bush then decided Saddam Huissain was hiding weapons of mass destruction (nuclear arms and biochemical weapons and such) Britain jumped on the bandwagon and together we blew up Iraq. To this day, even after Saddam's death, there have been no weapons found, so the war was in fact illegal, and America had no right to invade in the first place. That's where the critism starts. Since then, America and Britain have held the country under martial law and have no introduced a democratic government there. A lot of Iraqis dont want that etc. and conflict ensues. It's still not sorted and it's a hell of a mess. The long and the short of it is that Bush invaded on a hunch and was wrong - thats why everybody hates him - that and he's an idiot :/ There's also the argument that he made up the WMD claims to get his hands on the oil, another reason people dont like him. Personally, I dont really care either way - but that's the situation to my knowledge. (Rating: 5) ahhh thank you! That's all I needed was the gist of it haha |
