AdviceI need some help with my website, which is for teenagers. You have no meta tags in your source code, so even if you have submitted it to search engines (you HAVE to submit to see real benefits) then the search engines dont know what to look for. Fill your meta tags with descriptive words such as "teens" "make up" or whatever else your site has. You need a catchy logo on the top of your page as well - it lets people know you're serious and looks far more proffessional. You need more images, or basically something to look at. If it's supposed to be for teens, then it needs to be bright and colourful, with plenty going on. Your images need ALT tags to comply with international standards regarding disability and equality (so that blind people who may be browsing your site know that theres a picture there, and not just a blank space) - and no, I'm not joking, they have specialist software. Try wwww.w3.org - they have a test to see if your code complies. Your terms and conditions also need revising as they're easily open to interpretaion and using your first name without your last is worthless. http://sitekreator.com/ask_abby/index.html that page has an entirely different layout to the rest, and gives the impression you've left the site. Would it be possible to offer a trial membership whereby you don't actually need to register? From the bits people are allowed to see there's nothing really to grab attention and motivate people into signing up. Generally people are lazy and won't sign up unless they really have to or if they urgently need something. Why did I need to click 3 links to become a member? That means people may be finding it difficult to find the signup page as well. Also your vacancies list is a little excessive dont you think, but tat's irrelevant. I'm very sorry if this mini-review came across as harsh, but hopefully you'll take on board what I'v esaid and it'll help improve your site :) (Rating: 5) Thank you so much for all of your help. :) |
