17/m. wow. so okay. I'm worried about my friend. He has a girlfriend that he met ONLINE...that lives in a DIFFERENT COUNTRY O_O. lets just say that he lives in North America and she lives in Europe...they met through a forum, I think. I just need opinions. Because I don't want him to ruin his life waiting for her. Okay, so...they knew each other for one year. she promised to move to North America next summer to live with him. they both say that they love each other o_O, they're both the same (almost) age. My question to you is....Will a chatting relationship be strong enough to make this girl move all the way from her home country? why would she though? education is like free in europe. isn't it hard to get a passport to come here...and then it's very difficult to adjust to a different culture here in America? do online relationships really work out? Would ANY DECENT PARENT allow a girl to travel like 3000 miles to see a guy whom she only saw TWO pictures of?? Without speaking to the guy first?? (NO LIE) What are your views on this?

PS: I should also mention that I talked to her before. The girl's a depressed "nobody" who never had a bf. Could it be possible that she's just seeking attention??

Hey hun.Well to answer one of your question's flat out,no,it's not good to have online relationships at all whatsoever.You absolutly positivly have to meet the person first.And this girl is a complete idiot to think she can go and fly 3000 miles just to "live" with your friend.Just imagine..once they meet eachother it could all change.Because what if your friend doesn't like the way she acts in person? I don't think she's seeking attention..but she's just desperate.And no I don't think any decent parent would let some random chick from Europe come travel to America to date their son.And as for the passports and everything,yes it is kind of difficult to get one..and they are MUCHO expensive.So you might want to talk to your friend about all the disadvantages him and her are going to go through.
