in school eevryone tells me i am really pretty and boys always want to hook up with me. my bestfriend says shes really uglly. since the begining of the school year she asked 3 boys out and they all rejected her becase they say shes too ugly. i tried helping her like to boost up her confidence but she has low self asteem and i dont know what to do anymore. like i keep telling her shes pretty and she says she isnt. so my question is how to i boost her confidence or make her prettier. shes a tomboy and she acts kind of manly i really get sad when she tells me shes ugly but i dont know what to do, please help!?

Hey. I can totally relate to your friend because I am JUST like her. I am a tomboy too and my friend try to dress me up and change me into a certain image and while they're trying to help. I hate it, because it makes me feel like I'm not good enough sometimes. So I don't really think you should try to transform her into a girlie girl or change her style...now you can try to give friendly advice but try not too be too critical. Also just recently I was rejected my a guy I like and it sucks...but I son't think that she needs to be told all the time that shes pretty....sometimes people just want their friends to listen. In other words, maybe she feels she has to try to convince herself that shes ugly...that way when it happens she wont be so upset because she convinced herself shes ugly. Now I dnt know if this made ANY sense, but I hope it helps. Also, maybe you could just talk to her by saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that beauty isn't a skinny little model on TV....remind her that all shades, colors, and shaped of people make them pretty. maybe even try telling her she isnt pretty...shes BEAUTIFUL for the way she treats her friends and family. For the grades she makes for her accomplishments....I hope this helps though! Good Luck!
