I'm a woman in Texas. I'm married and have a school-aged child. I have a medical background. I'm quite liberal, socially. I love helping people with medical, parenting, and social questions. Don't ask me about tech stuff or finances, because I need advice on those things myself!

My 7th wedding aniversery is coming up, and I want to do something really special b/c we knew each other for 7 years before we got married and so its kind of a big deal.
anyway, I have a few ideas of my own, but i'd like to hear from anyone out there as far as what might be good. I just want it to be really memorable and show my wife that I love her just as much now as I always have and always will. I've already picked out a present so that's taken care of - I just need to figure out something to do to mark the occasion.
BTW, we have kids, so we can't go away anywhere for more than a weekend.
Any ideas? I'd like to hear from the ladies most, but any men with good ideas are also welcome - esp. if it's something you did yourself that made your wife happy! (link)

I'm 34/f. We're coming up on our 10th. What to do depends on where you are in the country to some extent. We're in Eastern Texas, so we might go on a Caribbean cruise leaving from Galveston, go to New Orleans and take a paddleboat ride on the Mississippi, go camping in the Texas Hill Country or whatever. On our first anniversary, we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast and took a train to the top of Pike's Peak (in Colorado).
Whatever you do, it should be about just the two of you getting away, doing something you enjoy together, and remembering why you like being around each other. Sometimes it's easy to forget "wow, we have the same sense of humor" when your day-to-day includes the more mundane thoughts about him always leaving his socks in the middle of the living room floor or her complete inability to take out the trash, etc.
Anything that you plan with her interests in mind will almost surely get you the reaction you're looking for. She'll love it and feel special because of it.
