ok so i just bought a new hair straightner it cost $30.00 at the mall. my mom doesnt let me use it becase she thinks that we need some kind of spray? she says that if we dont use the spray then the hair straightner would damage my hair is this true? anybody has had a hairstraightner and used it before and nothing bad happened to their hair. i want to use it but im scared if i do need a spray or something like that to put in before using it whats it called? thanks! it really depends on what your hair is like. i have been straightening my hair for 2 years now, and it has never damaged my hair, and i put nothing in it. i just do it like 3 times a week, so that might make a difference on how many times you do it in a week. you can try to starighten it for a week, and see how your hair looks. if it is dry, then you should put products in your hair to protect it. i would recomed it, because i staightened my friends hair, and it totally dried out. i would suggest to put in stuff though. here is a product that is only 4$, but works really well:
