It's REAL. You're probably thinking like the stupid people who come in for the auditions that can't really sing. Like, sometimes they put people on there for the entertainment factor. A lot of people go into American Idol dressed up because they just want to be on TV. Most people that do though, don't get shown on TV. Also, Ryan Seacrest & Simon always yell at each other, and that's fake. They put on arguments just so people will be entertained. But the singing, is real. :]
