advice
Okay I am a christian and I want to go to a christian college, but my dad dosn't believe in God and he knows I want to go to the college and tonight he told me that I should forget about it. He said that if I go there I will get married and marry a someone from there and he isn't gonna like my dad because he isn't a christian or something like that. I know they aren't like that. He thinks all of this is dumb. He said that his daughter is going to grow up and become a pastor's wife. When I go to college he isn't gonna feel great like my daughter went to this college! My mom will but my dad won't. I was crying today since he said that today and I hate it! Please help me and I'm sorry it was so long.
Your answer really is not that difficult, You need to chose who you are going to serve, the Flesh or God. Yes as christians we are to repect our parents but that only goes so far, after salvation we reach an age where we are responsible for our choices.
What means more to you doing God's will or doing your fathers.
Yes, that could mean your relationship with him could be hurt for some time by your choice but even Christ says that we as chistians will be persecuted for our beliefs.
I can see where He would feel like he would be disliked by a christian son-in-law but isn't he getting way ahead of himself?
I see that as just an excuse, becauase then he might have to admit that he really feels lost.
Lots of prayers
