I hate needles too, i get shots and stuff a lot. The best thing you can do is not think about the needle before your appointment. if you keep thinking about it, itll keep controlling your mind. while you're in the waiting room keep yourself busy by getting caught up in a book or listening to your favorite songs on your iPod. Once you're getting it done take deep slow breaths, and dont panic or hesitate. do not at all look at the needle, ask the doctor whose giving the blood test to make sure he tells you when not to look when he takes the needle out, while its being done, don't get tense. just breathe. sing a song in your head. ask a family member to come in with you and talk to you. hope this helps
