What does it mean to "cut rug" with somebody?

"would you cut some rug with me"?

cut rug means 'to dance' i think. so 'would you dance with me'?

urban dictionary says it means either to 'To dance really well and impress others.' it also has the slight implication of 'to have sex with'... but overall it's about dancing.
