i have a friend who's dad recently died. (the boy is 14) he was really close to his dad. his dad passed a few days before christmas and this night of his funeral was his 50th birthday. the boy's mother isn't really protective. this boy used to be in a gang...and had been involved with bad stuff. he is still in a gang...but wants out. he has one brother who is in it too...he's 19, and he is nothing but a bad influence. the boy knows i am worried, but he can't get out. i feel like now that his dad has passed that he is going to look up to his brother the kinda replace his dad. I am really worried. This has been bothering me so much. i wish i could have taken his dad's place, because i feel like nows the time he needs a dad in his life. does anyone have any advice. because i love this boy (i don't like love him as in bf or anything) it's just that i love him in a way that i would be willing to do anything to help him..and i would be heart broken if anything happened to him because he has been through so much. i love dis boy in a way that i would do anything to make him happy...even if that wouldn't include me. does anyone have any advice? any would be appreciated...srry it's long. i'm sorry to hear about your friends dad that is a sticky situation though. I know what it feels like to want to help a friend make the right decision but it isnt as easy as you both seem. Gangs are bad news and sometimes getting out means lossing your life, so dont take the chance of handling it yourselves. You could go to the police and they will help you and your friend or if you think that would make things worse for the both of you go to a guidance coucilor and they can handle it and keep your name quite cuz from what it seems your friends homelife isnt good for someone your age to be learning from. i hope this helps alittle.
