Can people please stop finishing every answer with "hope i helped" obviously you hope you helped, and whether you say that or not doesn't change whether you actually DID help. please, for everyones sake just answer the question! (link)

well, not everyone really hopes they helped, not to be rude to anyone else. We take our time to give the best advice we can (well, most of us) and it is a sign of politeness and respect. Sure, people don't have to take our advice and we could be completely wrong, so adding "hope i helped" makes it much more sincere. I'm sorry that you have a problem with it, but i respect the people that i give advice to and i'm not going to lower my respect for them, so your opinion is your opinion, but those of us who use it use it for a reason possibly beyond you and that is fine, but we choose what we do and by choosing to do that, we are showing sincerety. So I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, but this is the way that I feel.
