at my school we were debating about the immigration problem, i dont belive building a wall is a good idea nd i defended my opinion nd i think i offended people im confused if i should feel bad because i just said what i thought nd if thats the case why do i feel bad?

You feel bad because your opinions are strong and you don't realize the impact they may have...

I have had this same problem in the past. If you are debating for a class or club, then debate all you want. You are doing what you're meant to do. Outside of that, however, it may be best to be less outspoken... Words are very powerful.
