Q: hi. I am a 13/f and i started my period about 6 months ago. I play soccer alot and do track in school. I have never used a tampon, only pads. My mom wont bring the subject up and i'm too nervous to ask her how to use it or if I can use them. PLEASE HELP!!!! my soccer tournament is in a few weeks and thats when my next period is supposed to come! any advice on how my mom can bring up the subject? or how i can get the nerve to talk to her about this?? should i just not tell her and just use one?? but i've never used one before and i'm nervous and dont know how to use one. PLEASE HELP!! thank you sooooo much

i know, i swim alot, so what i did was i was like ew mom pads DONT work for me they just smell and i hate them, so she was like so what do you want to try and i was like could i try tampons but i was sooooo nevus, but i did say that and she was like sure! soo now i use them. just dont be nervus, shes your mom! at least its not your daddd.
