i have been searching everywhere on how to do the "messy bun" hairstyle. i know it is just kind of an "i don't care" bun, but whenever i try to do it it turns out all wrong. here are some examples of what i am talking about:

could someone just give me like step-by step instructions on how to create a messy bun?

Well, I do my messy buns like the first link.

This is EXACTLY what I do.
-Part my hair on the left side.
-Then I put it in a pony tail.
-I scrunch it with moose and spray it with hair spray.
-Then I take another hair tie and just wrap it around twice.

When you start getting the hang of this, you can start using 1 hair tie, instead of two.

Also, I would recommend getting the
-Garnier Frutis Style Curl Construct Moose [extra strong]

also, before you use, shake well!

-Garnier Frutis Style Full Control Hairspray [strong]

you can find it these products in CVS, Walmart, Target etc.

yes. twist it around make it messy..don't make it too messy cause then it will look bad.
for me, it just comes natually when you twist it.

(Rating: 5) okay i was trying out how you told me to but i got stuck on the last step. you said to "take another hair tie and just wrap it around twice". like how do you wrap it around? do you twist the hair? fold it? thanks!
